Supervised clinical practice, delivered to a clear framework of competencies, provides students with opportunities to develop their clinical skills and apply theoretical learning in a range of relevant settings. Trainee nursing associates must experience placements in each of the three health and care settings: hospital, at home and close to home settings. This module provides a wide a range of learning opportunities and contexts to fully deliver the required learning outcomes. The learning environment on placements supports the learning activities on the programme so that learners can apply learning and reflect on both theoretical and applied knowledge.
Demonstrate progression towards delivery of planned nursing interventions across the life course and in a range of health and /or care settings, under the direction of a registered nurse without direct supervision, delivering care, at times, independently in line with agreed/defined plan of care.
Develop knowledge and skills to fulfil the requirements of the clinical assessment/competency document for year 1 (to be provided by HEE), which will support the assessment of students on placement.

The Practice assessment document (PAD) will be provided by Health Education England (HEE) for all partners. The skills that are required to be achieved will be aligned to HEE Scope of practice
